Languages

          The dominant language of veddas is the vedda language. Other languages are sinhala and tamil.  Today,these languages are used by veddas in Mahiyanganaya and Dambana areas. Veddas , who live in eastern province, between Batticaloa and Trincomalee have adopted tamil as there mother tongue. veddas that have adopted sinhala are found in the South Eastern area, specially in uva district.
